I am so sorry people don't think before they speak - a simple "I'm Sorry" can be really powerful and just enough for such a difficult topic.

I am sure Leah can see the Halo Heart from Heaven.  What a nice tribute to Leah.  Great neighbors are special gifts.  Not everyone is so lucky!!!

Always praying you will receive signs from Angel Leah!!!

Hi Karen,  I too don't sign the guest book often.  But I think of you always and pray that somehow with just little baby steps you can be spared some of this most horrible grief.  I agree with the entry from Lisa.  I'm thinking the lady was giving you a compliment that you aren't crawling on your knees and drunk. That you are so brave and strong to be able to carry on with life in the best way you can in the most positive direction you can.  The death of a child is everyone's worse nightmare.  I don't know why the lady had to add "wow".  Or why she just didn't say I'm so sorry.  But I too don't think she meant to hurt you.  But instead of saying nothing she just had to say something.  For you that something was the wrong thing.  There was a man on Larry King last week whose name is "Dog".  He is a bounty hunter and it's another story.  But he lost his 22 year old daughter in a car accident a few years ago.  If I didn't know better I would say it was you sitting up there talking.  I thought of you and it just made my heart break.

I also want to tell you that there is a little 5 year old girl in my parish who has the tumor as Leah had.  She has no hair and what color wig do you suppose she has chosen?  You would never have guessed.  It is purple!!  And when I see her I think of Leah.  And then I wonder if somehow these little children are connected through angel power.  And I really believe that they probably are.

God Bless you and your family this holiday season!!  There are so many of us who would like to get December 26th for our birthday.

Hugs..Hugs..Hugs..Hugs.. to you, Kylie and Phil always!!  And may Leah send many many signs.

Hi Karen,

I've been thinking about all of you a lot these past couple days, even more than usual.  Just read your update and my personal opinion (not sure that you really want it) is ... no one can MEAN to say such horrible things ... they just don't know better.  Shame on them, but don't let them set you back.  Their words are certainly not worth it.  Try to look at it in a postive way - think of it as if she MEANT to say - you are so strong!  you continue to walk this lonely path and continue to be a wonderful wife and mother to both your daughters.  You are a pillar of strength!  I know...easier said then done, I am sure.  Maybe you could direct them to your website, to the section of "What not to say" ! Some people just need subtle hints! ;-) Lots of prayers are being said for each of you as you continue on.  Remember, baby steps.   Hugs to all of you!!!!!  ~Lisa

Hi Sweetie,
I am sooooo sorry that you had to run into someone insensitive.
I am always puzzled as to why people feel they need to say something!
For Heavens sake, if you don't know what to say to a grieving parent/person just say "I can't imagine what you must be feeling or going through and I don't know what to say". It is honest and it still offers support.  I once had a lady ( co-worker) compare loosing her dog to my pain of my loosing Christopher.  Although I am sure she didn't mean it the way it came out ( at least I hope she didn't) it was probably one of the most inappropriate things someone could say.

The holidays are absolutely the worst time for all of us.  People need to realize that we "fake" it.  What they do not see is the times that we sit alone and cry and shake our fist at the Heavens.  And yes, the times we get down right livid with God.  Oh, how I hate the holidays.  There will never be a truly "happy" or "merry" anything.  Those adjectives are gone.
My sister asked me the other day what she could get me for my birthday and I said "December 26th".

I love that your neighbor placed a heart and halo on the roof.  I KNOW Leah is  thrilled!  Now if we could only get a FROG..."ribbit"!

I am thinking about you all more than you can imagine and I hope the holidays are gentle to you...as much as they can be.

((((HUGS)))))

HI Karen, Phil and Kylie,

Just wanted to say "Hello" and thank you for the beautiful Christmas card.  Just wanted you to know we think of you every day.  Katie loved the card and wants to put it in her room after Christmas, so she can see Angel Leah every night when she prays to her.

We hope to see you all soon.

Love,

Josann, Pete, Matthew and Katie

Just stopping by to let you know that I am thinking of you.   Holidays are tough for a lot of people and I can only imagine how tough they can be for you and your family but I hope the joy that you do have in your life carries you through and brings out the happiness, love and peace of the season.  There still is so much love to receive, to give and to have.  Happy Holidays and wishing you peace.

Karen

Just stopping by to let you know that all of you have been in my prayers.  I was thinking of Leah while driving to work today and I turned my radio channel and "How far is Heaven" was on.  Pretty cool.  I always think of her when I hear that song or "Calling all Angels".  I hope we can find some time to get together soon.
