I found Leah's site through Sammi Jean's site, we belong to the Craniopharnyngioma support group too.  I have just read Leah's story and an sobbing my heart out, you see, my daughter had just turned 4 when she vomited and was diagnosed with a brain tumour, so yes it was very similar, but thankfully, my Grace is still with us.  I'm sorry, I hope I haven't upset you, but I just want you to know that I am thinking of you even though I don't know you.  Your grief must be unbearable, mine is hard, as Grace isn't the little girl I once knew, her personality has completely changed you see and she is blind now too.  So I too grieve for the little girl I once had.  But now I sound selfish, I don't mean to sound that way, I'm sorry.

I just can't imagine what your life must be like now, I'm sorry for you and your family.

Feel free to email me if you want to.

You are in my thoughts.

Take care. xx

Leah's inner strength and love for life comes out in everything your family does. I am proud to have met you and will share your story with others, as an example of how grief can be redirected into something that really adds to the world. Yet.... as we talked about... the trade-off is still NOT fair. My Best to you all :)

Wow what a nice tribute to Leah!   The kids at Mott's will be so excited to shop and receive the gifts and blankets.  I pray that your heart will be happy this season (if that's possible) and that your strength will grow and Leah's memory will live on forever with your organization..Leah's Happy Hearts.  God bless you all and I pray for many blessings to come your way this season and I pray for peace for your family.

Karen & Phil,

Thank you for sharing Leah's story.  What a special little girl!  I'm touched by your ability to reach out to others as you struggle to find your way through your own grief.

You'll be in my thoughts this holiday season.

Colleen

Hi Karen...

You did a great job on the news last night.  I am so very proud of you.
Are you going to Kellog Park on Sunday?
I'm still not sure if I will go...it's always so fricking hard and I'm usually a total mess afterwards.
Let me know if you plan to go...maybe I will be able to muster up the courage.
Thinking about you ,
Love,
Laur

Good Morning Karen,

I wanted to stop by to tell you that you've been on my mind this Christmas season. Often times, I wonder if we may think that each holiday season may get easier for you. How is it that we could even ponder that? Perhaps it is a universal "Hope" that we all have. The hope that one day your hearts will feel a little less heavy. Like you said "it is through understanding when we start believing." Believe that you are loved by many!
Becky and I made a promise that we would keep in touch, and we've yet to do so. We'll have to fix that....

I love you Karen,

Jacki.

Dear James Family:

My heartfelt thoughts are with you.Leah is a beautiful and spirited little girl that is so obviously portrayed in her pictures. I am an elementary school teacher and Leah  has touched my heart, as I have never corresponded to people on the internet, that I have never met. I felt compelled to let you know that Leah's story inspired me to react with my own situation. My daughter is 5 and  has a lump on her leg which the Dr. said 2 days ago not to worry and it will go away in 2 mos. But when I saw your story on the news tonight on wxyz, Leah reminds me so much of my daughter and I think Leah was telling me not to wait and get it checked out. There was a reason for me  to see this story tonight  and as I result I am reacting by calling my Dr. tomorrow. Your family gives strength to other families who have gone through what you have. What a special little girl to touch hearts across the border. This is her way to tell us that she lives on.

sincerely,
Melissa O'Connor
